DOCTORAL THESIS
Clive is currently in the final stages of writing up his PhD thesis as a member of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Computer Music Research (ICCMR), based at the University of Plymouth in south-west England.
His research is concerned with composing and recording music using computer models of instrument and studio technology from historical time periods, to try to understand how technical limitations affect the creative process.
CONFERENCE PAPERS
AND PRESENTATIONS
Clive has presented papers on both technical and musicological subjects at various conferences, including AES and BFE/RMA events and has co-authored a chapter in the book Distortion in Music Production - The Soul of Sonics, published by Routledge
Clive composed a special piece of music in association with the University of Plymouth's Marine Research department for the COP26 climate change conference in 2021.
